Author, Loren Spivack entertained and educated us with humor and poignant philosophy.  Our group looked like bobble-head dolls as we concurred with Loren's wisdom!

The Media, Past and Present  

On July 10th, members and guests heard from John J. Miller of Hillsdale College.  He is the Head of the college's Journalism Department as well as an independent writer.  John had thought-provoking comments.

Redmond 4th of July Parade sported cooler weather than last year and a big crowd!  COFRW passed out bookmakers, flags, and candy with big smiles.  Such a fun, patriotic day!

Christine Drazan, Oregon State Representative for District 51, spoke to COFRW members and enlighten us about the Oregon Legislature, Governor's Special Session ("keepin'-it-in-the-dark") and her plans for 2026.  


Rowdy Republicans to meet at Tumalo's "The Bite" Food cart pod!  Aug 22, 5-7 pm.

Rachel Nordenhök of DAR will speak about the celebration of the U.S. Constitution and library books

OR State Representative Vikki Breese-Iverson, District 59, will speak to us about the Oregon Legislature.

Aaron Cubic is Grants Pass City Manager.  He successfully sued the State of Oregon for homelessness demands on the city.  He won in the U.S. Supreme Court!  But the State is putting more demands on Grants Pass.  Deschutes County has these same problems and can learn from Mr. Cubic's efforts.  Thank you, Mr. Cubic, for coming to central Oregon and filling us in on your management of the homeless, ADA requirements, new lawsuits...

He also installed our 2026 Board officers.
